My Philosophy
Strategy Before Tactics. Clarity Before Activity.
I have lived through several major waves of disruption including the rise of digital media, the shift to content-led marketing and the acceleration of artificial intelligence. Each new era has changed the tools, but none of them have changed the fundamentals.
- Humans still make decisions the same way.

- Clarity still creates differentiation.
Modern organisations do not win by doing the most marketing. They win by making the best decisions.

Why I Believe in Clarity
My career did not begin in a traditional agency. This is one of the reasons my approach is different and more grounded in commercial outcomes.
Early Career: Systems, Scale & Commercial Growth
Growing a National Franchise
In my mid twenties I became the Marketing and Operations Manager of a national franchise group. I developed the marketing systems and operational frameworks that helped the organisation grow from 33 to 83 locations.
The business was listed in the BRW Fast 100 for three consecutive years.
This taught me that clarity, systems and alignment create sustainable growth.
Driving Revenue in Radio
I later became the Sales Manager for two major radio stations. During that time I led the team to grow market revenue share from 30 percent to 47 percent within two years.
This taught me that positioning, messaging and team alignment directly influence commercial performance.
The Shift Into Digital: Reinvention Before It Became Mainstream
In 2005 I purchased a traditional advertising agency and soon began transforming it into one of Australia’s first digital agencies.
Some highlights from this period include:
- Creating television advertising for major brands such as Caltex, Metroll and Lake Macquarie City Council
- Launching Mediahunter, a nationally recognised marketing and media strategy blog
- Building Australia’s first agency website on WordPress (outrageous at the time, common now)
- Developing deep expertise in SEO, content and digital strategy
- Securing national clients including Colliers International, WSPA, Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Wipro
This period reinforced a key lesson. Technology changes quickly, but clarity and strategy become even more important during times of disruption.
The Last Decade: Sticky Digital and Strategic Growth Work
Through Sticky Digital I have helped hundreds of organisations strengthen their digital presence, sharpen their positioning and build sustainable marketing systems. This work has included:
- modernising marketing operations
- improving SEO and authority signals
- guiding digital transformation
- refining messaging and differentiation
- supporting professional services, NFPs, charities, education and property development
- navigating the rapid shift toward AI-driven marketing
This experience confirmed something important; most marketing problems are strategic, not tactical. When the strategy becomes clear, performance improves across every channel.
